Several members of Alan's family from Eastbourne, often go to Florida for their main holiday, in 2003, he and his immediate family joned them, he writes:-

" My family and I all decided that a holiday in Florida would be the ticket so we decided to stay in a couple of villas in a place called Kissimee, when I say the family I mean all the family 11 of us.

We wanted to go to the various parks like Universal, Busch Gardens , etc so we found out that you can get passes here in England before you go and they are cheaper in advance.

We flew out of Gatwick and soon realised that Florida is a long way away so you have to entertain yourself if you don't want to watch the movies that are laid on.

When we landed the first thing that hits you is the heat, it is hot! very hot.

We picked up our hire car which was a great system, you just say what type of vehicle you want like an SUV or a car and they say go choose what you wantout of all the cars they have.

The villas were fab they had pools and air con and my god you need it. We noted that the pools had nets round them, this to keep the Animals out.

The thing to remember about florida is that it is all geared to a good time , the people are very friendly and helpful all in all we had a great time in Great Universal Studios, and Busch Gardens, Disney land, Water world. If you want a once in a life time family orientated holiday then you cant beat Florida but remember it is hot. "
